Q: What is your educational background?
B.A. Mass Communication & Marketing Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame. Certifications in Workplace Culture & Strategy, Collaborative Consulting, Coaching for Leaders
Q: How long have you been in the OD field?
15 years in OD and another 20 in sales & sales management
Q: How long have you been member of MNDOND?
I’ve been a member for over 10 years now
Q: Why did you join?
I joined to learn from other OD professionals, share my experience where relevant to help others on their OD journey and give back to non-profits via the community consulting program
Q: What benefits do you gain from membership?
Like with most experiences, you get what you put into it. MNODN is no exception. It offers many great ways to learn, network and share best practices and I’ve tried to participate in as many opportunities as possible. Membership has truly been a win-win experience for me – I’ve volunteered with the Mentoring and Community Consulting programs getting as much back from these as I had the chance to share, monthly meetings give access to OD subject experts, and I’ve been able to apply learning using tools provided.
Q: Have you been a board member/volunteer with MNODN before? If so, please share your experience/benefits.
The work of the community consulting program or CCP continues to be a professional highlight for me. The multi-talented OD Consultants I’ve had the great pleasure of working with have helped broaden my collaborative consulting skills and perspectives, offered valuable insights and given me invaluable feedback on my OD-related work in areas like change management and strategic planning. Sometimes the best learning comes from the biggest challenges and one such experience happened with my first CCP project launch. After the initial launch meeting, the covid-pandemic hit, and this presented our team the chance to be the first MNODN CCP project working to deliver results in 100% remote setting!
Q: What special skills do you possess that make you an effective OD professional?
My experience in sales, sales management & training development aligns well with the collaborative consulting approach. I can say I’ve walked the talk.
Q: What advice do you have for people entering the field?
“Your success in life isn’t based on your ability to simply change. It is based on your ability to change faster than your competition, customers and business.”
